Bodhisttva Vow Ceremony

7:00pm – 9:00pm

A Bodhisattva is a friend of the world who, motivated by compassion, resolves to attain enlightenment to benefit all living beings. To maintain and strengthen this resolve, the Bodhisattva promises to avoid certain actions that would cause his or her compassion to decline.

By taking the Bodhisattva Vow, he or she undertakes to follow the Bodhisattva’s way of life by practicing the six perfections: giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration, and wisdom. These promises, or vows, are guidelines for a more compassionate way of life, and practicing them in daily life will help us to follow the Bodhisattva’s path to full enlightenment.

Join us for this special ceremony to renew and strengthen your vows, or to take them for the first time. (Please bring a small vegetarian food offering – something you like -  i.e., chocolate, cookies, fruit; or small bottles of juice, tea, or flowers - to place on the offering table.)

Everyone welcome!

This Ceremony is FREE of charge.  Pre-registration is not necessary.
