Becoming a part of the community, or Sangha in Sanskrit, is an important part of our spiritual growth. The best place to begin is by attending a variety of drop-in classes and events. Here you will meet new and long-time students of Kadampa Buddhism. Discussing Buddha’s teachings, or Dharma in Sanskrit, is a great way to get to know others and understand the spiritual path.
Once you get to know us, volunteering at Vajra Light Buddhist Center, a non-profit organization, is a great way to get more involved. We have many opportunities for helping out, such as:
- Greeting newcomers in reception area
- Setting up and taking down the shrine
- General cleaning and vacuuming
- Working in the bookstore
- Distributing publicity
