2600 years ago, Buddha Shakyamuni appeared in this world, and showed how it is possible for each one of us to attain the freedom and peace of enlightenment. Since Buddha’s teachings and methods lead us on an internal path to freedom, they continue to be powerful, beneficial and effective in present times. 

During this special weekend course, Kadam Donna will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni, a beautiful guided meditation through which we receive Buddha’s inspiring blessings followed by teachings on The Liberating Prayer ~ a praise to Buddha Shakyamuni, composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
10:30am -12:30pm: Empowerment (Please arrive no later than 10:15am)
12:30pm - 2:30pm: Lunch
2:30pm - 4:00pm: Commentary 1

SUNDAY SCHEDULE:
10:00am -11:00am: Meditation session
11:30am - 1:00pm:    Commentary 2

It's customary to bring a small offering to the Empowerment, i.e., cookies, chips, chocolates; a small bottled or canned non-alcoholic beverage; candles, or soaps. You are welcome and encouraged to do so!

Parking:
At all times, regardless of the empty spaces in the building lot, please use the parking lot at the corner of Lester Avenue and Nostrand Avenue ONLY*. Tenants in the building with designated spaces do come at random times and we don’t want to create any imposition for them. The lot diagonally across the street is FREE.

*There are two designated handicap spaces in the building’s lot, if you need one.
