Although the concept of karma is widely known, it is often misunderstood or remains a mystery to many.  In his teachings on karma, Buddha revealed the true nature of this universal law - known as the wisdom of cause and effect.  Using precise logic and wisdom, Buddha explained how all our actions of body, speech, and mind are causes and all our experiences are their effects in our daily life.

The law of karma explains why each individual has a unique mental disposition, a unique physical appearance, and unique experiences. Through understanding these universal principles and learning how to recognize karma functioning in our daily lives we can understand our past and gain real confidence in our ability to change our future. This wisdom is important for everyone because we all want to be free from problems and experience lasting happiness!

“The purpose of understanding and believing in karma is to prevent future suffering and to establish the basic foundation for the path to liberation and enlightenment.” Modern Buddhism by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
